Over the last few months after the presidential election which saw Ahmed Tinubu emerging as the nation's president, military men have moved in to Southeastern Nigeria and blocked many roads near their check points. Commuters have been made to trekk to the last military check point before embarking on the bus while their driver driving their bus empty until it gets to where they are waiting for it. It was a pleasure to welcome the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Sam Ogbuku, along with some Directors of the Commission, to Abia State yesterday. They came for the commissioning of the Aqua Culture Training Centre in Umuahia, one of the laudable projects executed by the NDDC in our state. I congratulated Dr. Ogbuku on his well-deserved appointment and confirmation and thanked him and his team for their visit. We also seized the opportunity to discuss some of the pressing issues affecting our state, especially the erosion menace that is threatening lives and property in several areas of Aba, Umuahia, Isuikwuato, and Umunneochi. EFCC Parades 15 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Enugu Operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 15( Fifteen) suspected internet fraudsters in the Enugu metropolis, Enugu state. They were arrested on Friday, October 20, 2023 following credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related offences. The suspects are; Casmir Ibebuogu Chizaram, Emegbusim Emmanuel Nnamdi, Chinedu Nworji, Nzube Micheal, Oranusi Chigozie Slyvester, Francis Mbaeri, Okoro Ugonna Prince, Stanley Amobi. Others are; Emegbusim Chukwuka, Nlemoha Kingsley, Ejiofor Franklin, Chidera Peter, Chidiebube Chukwula Peter, Innocent Chukwuka Peter and Micheal Eche. Items recovered from the suspects are: 30 mobile phones, one international passport and four laptops.
